This might be the best and simplest option. It's a normal 16 amp EHU plug that you would connect to the van end of the EHU cable but, unlike the standard plug, this one has a 220 volt outlet at the back of the plug. You would need to make up a trailing lead from the "continental" type outlet with a 220 volt 13 amp 3 pin socket at the other end. This would trail under the van to the other side or anywhere you want it.

For safety, fit an RCD in the trailing lead.

First photo shows the plug with black rubber entrance for the EHU cable.

Second photo shows socket end to plug into van.

Third photo shows "continental" socket for plugging in 220v trailing lead.

I'd still say the simplest option is to move the ehu input away from the awning side of the van. Who needs a ehu cable and socket in the awning..
Stick an external socket in the existing hole. If the op can't do it themselves then find a local who can.

What @judo said above. Saw that setup at lots of sites in Germany last year. Simple solution for outside power if under cover of an awing.

our grey and black waste outlets go into ours, think yourself lucky :)(y)

not really too sure why you don't like the EHU going in on the awning side though, it only dangles down the side of the MH and can then go underneath

I am viewing this correctly, the female side of the adaptor, shown with a pencil holding it's cover up, plugs into the van ? (Ignoring the rubber boot to accept a cable). Then the other female socket, for the "french" plug, accepts the pins end of a cable ? Does this mean the french cable has exposed pins on the end to plug into the adaptor ? These pins could be live if the other end is plugged into the site EHU post ????

no, the schuko socket on the back of the angled trailing socket is an outlet only, not an inlet

This is the fella I use as our Dethleffs has a straight AC input socket, it keeps the cable neatly against the van. I also use the 2 pin outlet with an RCD plug to give a 240v outlet when using the awning.

I have been caravanning for 32 years but in 2014 I have"gone over to the dark side"
Here is my solution, no need to cut any holes in your motorhome and easily transferable, just simply unplug hookup lead from motorhome inlet, plug into adapter and plug adapter into motorhome inlet and suction cup double adapter to side of motorhome (y)

Nice one!! - I assume the double square pin 13A socket shown attached to the van is easily removable - suction pads, Velcro or similar?

Forgive me if I'm being stupid but @SHARON JOHN will still need an additional ehu socket fitted to the other side of the van otherwise it'll have no power to power said socket and get it out of the way of the awning, or am i reading this wrong and need another G&T??

Thanks for replies
We just wanted to move our EHU socket from awning side to other side of van, and in the hole where the EHU was we wanted to put an ordinary electric point
Thanks

That's a very good price, where's that from, not that I need one as I already have one.

It was a flier from Outwells, excellent price for a great solution when wanting to have 240v in the awning.

Yes definitely a good price, I bought mine when in France through
eBay Fr. and that was €9.60.
