The better half is asleep in bed with a cold. The house is dark, heated and lighted by valves from my amp and the delicious Beethoven sonatas played by Daniel Barenboim. So far today (14:32) not using much gas or leccy. Time of things to come? Use what you have.😀

Did our first one hour Octopus Saving Session on Tuesday evening.
Threw the mains switch, fired up the laptops and use the rechargeable LED light off the van for lighting for the hour.
Waiting for Octopus to crunch the numbers and see what they will be paying us for the leccy saved.

I have a Beard P100 valve amp. Just a beautiful piece of engineering, lovely to listen to and even better to look at in a darkened room.
It's actually a P100S. Just beautiful

The black grid cover lifts off to expose the valves.

It's nearly dark here already. Just about to light the fire with my free logs then I will have hot water all night for washing dishes and filling the hot water bottle and fill a large flask, so I have hot water for the breakfast dishes in the morning, all for free. Now the leccy bill that's a different story🤬

Yes, Roksan CD and Phono. Naim Power and Pre-amps.
Little passive pre-amp for the Beard.
Top gear! And the Beard with the Partridge output transformers. A rarity. I’d hang onto the amp If ever tempted. Enjoy the music.

Very cool gear. I'm not in that league, Denon PMA-600 and a very old Dual CS 505-4 turntable. I have however built myself a pair of very heavyweight speaker stands that make my Wharfedale Diamond 220s sound like a millian pounds! The bass is incredible. Solid oak bases mounted on spikes, solid (not tube) aluminium posts with 25mm ply to mount speakers on.

All stuff I've found/scrounged.

I've just got my old Bose CD Player/Radio. Mostly listen to music on headphones on the internet these days. The dogs don't like it when I blast music out:giggle:

Lovely stands. I used to have a pair of RogersLS35A speakers. The difference (improvement) in sound when placed on proper stands was incredible. Your set up is just fine. There’s an awful lot of snobbery around hi-fi gear, just as there is in motorhomes! The music is the most important thing. Enjoy what you have. 👍

Can we please introduce posts about fishes and fishing to this thread so that Lenny can enjoy it too? 🪖🙃

They may have helped blow my Diamond 5s, but I suspect the real culprit was King Crimson..... well the last minute or so of to be Starless to be exact!

Not to everyones taste but there you go. The world would be a dull place if we all liked the same things.

My biggest conundrum was do I file Roger Waters under W for Waters or P for Pink Floyd. As you can see in the end Rog ended up in the Floyd section with David Gilmour. Genesis and Peter Gabriel was easy!

Ok, well in for a penny... Here is A-D. This could be a laugh.

Plenty of good stuff there. Could be my vinyl collection now in the loft. Robert Cray, Bowie, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Count Basie, Blue Nile, Dylan, Ian Durie……..I could go on. No longer have a turntable.
