They're in short supply in Decathlon in the UK but here they're in stock on offer and a fair bit cheaper. Anyone imported one to the UK lately?. Did you reclaim French vat and pay on entry to the UK?

Not done it since Bx, you would only get the French VAT back if the company is set up personal exports also I think there is 14% import duty on bikes + the 20% vat.

Would be easier to & cheaper to pop over & pick one up.

We're over there now!. I'm just a bit worried that a shiny new bike might attract attention!

Just put it on the back it will soon get dusty bike cover or not

A shiny bike just means you look after it, I really don’t think they will look at your bike and think, I bet he just bought that lets tax him. (y)

As above
Go over with the van and buy one.
Stick it on a bike rack
Keep your gob shut at the port on your return.
No import duty. No VAT.
You just saved a chunk of your ferry/tunnel costs
Ditto
Its just a bike, put a bike cover on it.
Oops forgot ,it will stick out out like a sore thumb, cos its a LHD.

Actually it will be left hand drive. You can swap the brake levers over to correct that 😆

Not that easy when hydraulic, left ours as LHD soon get used to it.

PS - i have no idea if it is or isnt, or even care, but its bound to get someone going and checking LOL

Do customs and excise really care....surely not...the very same bike could have been bought in the UK pre European trip and remained unused...as if..🤔👍

Don’t forget that if it is you’ll need left handed bike clips!

Post any Paperwork, receipt, guarantee back to yourself in the U.K. just in case they do ask about it and start digging.

Bike clips ......now theres something you don't see any more.
At school the gardening teacher, I'm sure there's a stupid modern name for it, used to wear his all day.
Actually, thinking about it, the name back then was rural science......it was still digging a bloody garden over and over..

Stick some pretend scratches and scuffs on it and it will look used.
I have lots of marks on my bike I can sell you. £1 each buyer removes and collects.

Actually on a serious note the front brake lever is set up on the left when in fact U.K. bikes including Motorbikes are on the right, not difficult to change over but you could do an endo in an emergency braking situation.

This isn't a joke. Brits have their levers the other way around.
Didn't see your post before l posted above but l like to think they have theirs the other way around meaning ours is the correct way.🤔👍
