Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
The VW Transporter is a hideous machine, but each to their own.
That slammed to the floor look though, its hideous & must be hellish to drive?
Its typical of these sort of fashions, they want to be individual, but all follow the same thing, grow up & get a mind of your own, oh & some taste while your about it.

Silly rant over & mostly tongue in cheek.:drinks:

It is likely fitted with a hydraulic lift system which will enable the suspension to be “pumped up” for road use.
Bet it hasn't..... Just some ex hippy thinking it looks 'cool'

Ex bosses son had a Golf lowered like that.
First 'sleeping policeman' showed him why cars have ground clearance..... From skirt badly damaged and both sills wrecked.
4inch hump... 2inch clearance.

It most certainly is built on airbags....and probably worth in the region of £40k +
Multiple trophy winner too by the looks of things.

Things have moved on since the 60's 😒 and with air ride its the best of both worlds ...much smoother ride than normal suspension and the ability to drop it on its arse when parked.
I've never owned a vw that didn't turn heads of all generations ..and found them to attract more conversation from passers by than any other vehicle.

One thing motorhomes lack is character .....something that vw oozes

I was going to write a very rude comment about men being disillusioned about inches, but what's the point.

But the van loved it anything that can make you smile has to be good opened the thread and laughed out loud

thanks ambulancekidd

stupid ideas have always been to the fore when it comes to youngsters and cars. Only the other day I was reminiscing about a breakdown/recovery I was on with a mate. A kid with a bog standard ford escort wanted an RS2000, so fitted cheap wheel spacers all round instead. He tried showing off doing wheelspins and burnouts down Westover Road in central Bournemouth, in front of all the girls. Both back wheels sheered of the bolts and the car slammed hard to the ground blocking the road. It caused absolute chaos for an hour

Worst part was accepting that was 40 year ago give or take

Depends how you do it, if you do it cheap and heat/cut springs etc its crap but if you go for airbags or coil overs and swing arm then its spot on
I had a bay window vw that would rip out cats eyes and rode like a dream 👍
