Searching for a new motorhome and getting more and more despondent.

Why do they all have to look like refrigerators on wheels? Cold and clinical, they are just so 'samey'. OK the interiors vary but I want to be different.

I want something a little bit quirky but reliable - a bit like me :)

The hunt continues...

None of the smilies seem appropriate so just wishing you good luck in your search. (y)

May I ask why you want a new van?

Don't you like your current one?

JJ

Shirley is 22 years old and has quite a few issues. It doesn't seem worth spending a large amount of money (which is what she needs) to bring her up to scratch.

New bathroom needed - shower tray & sink cracking.
Delaminated floor needs fixing.
New heater required.
Crumbling cardboard roof and walls letting in damp.
Roof vent leaking if the wind's in the wrong direction.
4 new tyres needed as they are 6 years old.

Apart from that she's in fine fettle (y)

I think it's a good thing, too easy to buy a bland, mass produced big white box.
The fact that it's taking time and you're struggling to find that 'gem', suggests that you've got a high expectation and pay attention to the detail. Both great qualities when buying a van, I'm sure your patience will pay off...
Either that or you're like my missus, almost impossible to please

You should look on the plain white slab like sides as a design challenge - there's a whole world of novelty vinyl stickers out there. You can even make up your own.

We had a quick walk round the NEC yesterday, absurd is how I'd label some we saw. The designers seem to think that if they look like Las Vegas Casinos people will flock to buy them, more lights than Blackpool. Are buyers that shallow ?

As someone said earlier, you can get some VERY imaginative Vinyl Wraps now, and you can design your own and have it done ! ! !
Saw a Zebra wrap last time in Portugal....
Also some beautiful wildlife pictures are available, or again, do your own design ! ! !
As wild or "far out" as you like ! !
BUT..... DO Please, get a good van to do it on ! ! !
Then you have the best of both worlds...
Mitch. ;)

Have you considered a self build? You could choose a quirky van to your taste and convert the inside to the exact layout and up to a quality/standard of your choosing.
