I actually said bloody hell when I gave her a tenner and she said that's not enough, don't know if she realised what I said but didn't blink an eye as she sat there with her hand out.

When you visit any town is the UK the most popular shops are coffee and pizza outlets.Could it relate to that both coffee and pizza sales carry very high profit margins ?

Not just the UK, overpriced takeaway coffee is popular everywhere these days .

Folk have too much disposable income

Same with bottled water.

Some people just never learn how to manage money.

It's even taught in school these days 😁
Thing is though I have never been in any coffee place before, as it's something I can well manage without, and I can gaurantee I shall probably never be in one again.
I seriously looked at the till and saw 5 euros come up and I thought that's bloody dear even when thinking it was for two nevermind one.

Agreed, Tam. Cannot stand a wee espresso in a large cardboard cup.

Just waiting for the tunnel thought we would have a hot chocolate in Starbucks.

Not as much of a laugh as we had at the P&J in Aberdeen on Saturday night. Went to see Kevin Bridges, whilst killing time waiting to go in we waited beside the sweet stall and watched the faces of people discovering they'd paid on average between £15 & £30 for a bag of pick and mix! Worst one we personally saw was someone charged over £50! £2.99 per 100g and concession taking full advantage of folks having no idea 100g of pick and mix barely covers the bottom of the bags provided. We limited ourselves to £7.50 for a beer and another £4.50 for a small bottle of orange! Wouldn't have been so bad but Kevin's nowehere near as funny as he used to be :( That pick and mix stall tho.....what a hoot
