I don’t normally complain about the Caravan Club but …….

£64000 for a lawnmower!!! Bloody Hell!

Not sure I've ever really fully bought that.

We used to call people persons. Now we call them 'resources', factors of production, that just happen to be human. Human Resources have to be fed Bovine Resources to restore their energies, and we need to ensure that the Atmospheric Resources are conducive to their productivity.

And we do this in the name of progress.
On of the teams in our HR service is called “People Analytics”, they seem to be very good at producing spreadsheets and PowerBi reports. As a result everyone knows just how badly we are doing.

Hence one of the reasons I’ve decided it is time to retire, only a couple of months left.

We avoid Hillhead now.
Higher Well Farm Stoke Gabriel far better scenery, space and value
We did a week at Higherwell Farm in September couple of years back. Nice peaceful spot.

Well I must admit that I didn’t expect such a prompt reply from the Caravan Club but here it is.

There are a couple of points that I intend getting a bit of clarification on. I think that it does infer that there is a risk to health whilst wet. Also the fact that it was quite a windy day. What do you think?

Thank you for your email regarding your concerns when staying at our Cirencester Park Club Campsite.

I would like to reassure you that Site Managers that carry out the weed spraying on sites are fully trained and independently accredited with a weed spraying licence and are issued with the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
All sites use Roundup Proactive which again is a licensed weed spray and is harmless in the dilutions used to both people, their children, pets and wildlife. It is only able to be transferred whilst wet, once it has dried on the plant this will not occur.

Weed spraying of pitches is necessary throughout the year to ensure pitches remain in the condition where guests members can use them, and this is only carried out when certain weather conditions are met.

Staff carrying out the weed spraying will advise guests when carrying out the spraying near to their pitch and will explain that the solution is harmless to guests children, pets, so as to give the option in staying inside your outfit.
Despite Roundup Proactive being safe to use, the Caravan and Motorhome Club does review the use of the products it supplies its staff to use and will source alternative products, not only to support the health and safety of the staff using the products and the members who may be affected by its use, but also to assist with its sustainability commitments.

I do hope that the information above has allayed any concerns you may have and that we can welcome you back on a Club campsite soon.

Kind regards

🤔 Ask them which PA licience the user hold s when was their last refresher course and who awarded it that should be entertaining

A question.
If the weed killer is not transferable when dry, what happens if it rains or a dog chews it.
Does it reactivate?

The wording used was not "when dry" but "once it has dried" - i.e. having dried that's it.
Basically the same as the wording on the domestic use packaging which we all read before use to make sure we are using it properly :-)

If it’s so safe, why the need for ‘Personal Protective Equipment’ ?
Apart from legislative requirements (which often tend to go over the top) for the same reason we do when we approach use of such products sensibly at home. To mitigate against the dangers from mixing and transporting the product rather than spraying it.

Yes I am intrigued to know what make and model.
John Deere 8800A and you will pay more for it now as that was last year, however it will cut you front lawn very quickly :giggle:
