enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
Can anyone recommend a one night stopover please en route to Newhaven for a daytime sailing, towards the end of March? Ideally within about an hour or so would be perfect. Not looking for a wilding spot, happy to pay - would prefer a pub stopover in a rural area where we can get a reasonable meal in the evening - even better if the cost was offset against the meal .... Not really looking to stopover on the port itself ...
TIA

Since 2016 and caravanning before that
It is SE92 in Britstops. We used it after coming back from Dieppe and were delayed by a power outage so got to it in the dark and with 2 minutes to spare before closing. The approach is along quite narrow roads but the pint of Harvey's was lovely. We were the only van there

Every day a schoolday
It’s 2 years since we did the Newhaven-Dieppe route so others may have more up to date information ….. we stayed at the car park of The Hope Inn. If you eat/drink there then it’s free, £10 if you don’t. There’s no facilities as such but it is convenient for the port. The car park is quite small so better suited to smaller vans.
If I remember rightly, there is an aire (of sorts) at West Beach Promenade which is just a little bit further along from the Hope Inn and accommodates bigger vans and was £10 per night.
Hope that helps x

Thanks, just contacted them and booked a table for a meal aswell. looks like its around 30 mins from Newhaven, so convenient for a leisurely drive in the morning,

thanks to everyone else for responding, very much appreciated.

Pub food is normal pub stuff , the views in the morning are worth it, worth a very short walk ( a minute) to views over Eastbourne
