hymer stub axle.

Hi we are searching for a rear left side stub axle for our fiat dicatto hymer b564 2500 cc 1996 diesel
Garage says existing one needs changing yesterday we needed a baring got that now say because baring sheared off !!! (Just after mot not mentioned)
the stub axle is damaged so if any one can help advise we'll be very grateful many thanks mike & jan.
we are near brecon wales .

A good machine shop should be able to rebuild it if you can't get one

The MOT is not a service and not a guarantee of road worthiness, it is a statement that at the time of the test it passed all the set points of examination. If the stub axle has snapped then change it ,if has worn to much to keep the bearing fast then a specialist engineers should be able to reface it.

They did, my mate had a 244 (2002) on an Alko.

If it helps... My Laika A class h710 is a 2003 and has an alko chassis...

My 2004 x244 had an alko extension but not a full chassis and retained the original axle and suspension

I guess you're both inferring that you had full chassis ? rather than extensions
Is there any web based information on those? Alko say they have been involved since 1979 but I can only find info for the AMC which is an x25o full chassis

The rapido I referred to had the full Alko with torsion bar suspension as oppposed to the Fiat leaf springs.

Andy,

Our 99 Hymer has an ALKO chassis with tandem axles, torsion bars, etc. The only FIAT parts are the cab and front running gear, and rear wheels and brake assemblies.

Apparently, the rear brake cables used to be available from FIAT agents, but are only available direct from ALKO now, but the brake assemblies are still available from FIAT.
