Advice please.
Using HUAWEI Airbox MiFi, was working well with 3 different SIM cards, suddenly today it showing on its screen 4G with 3 bars indicating the level of the reception and next to them the letter R (very small). Units that I try to connect to the MiFi are not connecting to the Internet.
What is the R indicating, what could cause that and how can I sort it?
Many thanks.

By the look of it ,are you in Germany (de) R=Roaming??
Also looks like message inbox.
Can you get into admin setting on you pc/phone /tablet
Out of credit ???
Not familiar with you mifi of choice .

Just some of the things I came up with when I had a disposable data card inserted

As jollyrodger says the "R" means data roaming is turned on however I would have expected to see a couple of arrows pointing up and down between the 4g and WiFi symbols to show data connection status. It also shows you have unread messages so suggest you access these via the Settings and see if they've got any info.

Settings are easiest accessed via mobile app or on laptop (that's what I use) and there may need to be a change to the WLAN settings?

Thanks. I am getting connection to internet with Vodafone SIM but not with 3Mobile SIM, do you know the Setting for 3Mobile? Is it a different WALN then the Vodafone?

From memory :
Whilst connected to mifi.

On your phone /tablet etc
Open browser
Type 192.168.1.1
Should get you Huawei admin settings pw admin
Go into it tick box allow roaming (or similar)
Sounds like Vodafone set up ok but I think you have to do same for three .
That should do it

But someone wiser than me could be along shortly

I could be wrong but the address may be 192:168:8:1 but that might just be my settings as it may conflict with home router which is 1:1.

and let's hope OP hasn't changed the password!

Dogsense if you search on here for 3 APN there's a few threads on it.
This one might help https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/pay-as-you-go-sim-in-mifi.241860/#post-4522827

I use the Hauwei HiLink app to interegate my MiFi unit.

The website informs that a 'one off' settings change to a device is needed to function on roaming.

I had this problem whilst in France last September.

I’d set up the ‘One Off’ roaming, as per the Smarty instructions, which worked fine whilst in the UK (as it should). However, once in France a new set up needed to be done. I had to ring Motorhome Wifi who talked me through the process which required me setting up something on my iPad and connecting it to the MiFi.

No further problems after that, but don’t ask me the process as if they hadn’t have talked me through it I’d have been completely lost. 🤷‍♂️

Hi have you activated the sim in your own country first as it cannot be activated whilst abroad.
see attached link.
