How often do you folk wash your Moho/ PVC? I must wash mine between 15 and 20 times a year on return within a few days and a few days before we leave and if away from any length of time I wash it where I am pitched.
I do the roof about 4 times a year, but I think I am a bit anal or is this the norm?

Have you seen how much water emerges from the hoses those bods use. :whatthe:
The local hab check / leak detection / repair shops would be on overtime.
They are using a normal hose pipe and a bucket (quite a few as they filled with fresh often)

More than happy to pay £20 to charity

I have flaky paint but a dry van and if you look carefully the covers are on the vents

And they did a better more careful.job than the so called hand washers that use jet washers

And a better job than I do

A quick wash after each trip to remove road dirt and dead flys off the bonnet. Similar inside.

Like to give it including the roof a good going over at the start of the season and again before overseas trips.

Probably a personal thing, but makes me feel 10 foot tall driving a clean vehicle.

I did mine yesterday, but the intention initially was only to wash the roof and try to get rid of all the little black marks then polish it. I managed to do that, apart from polish the middle that I couldn't reach and then decided that as the all the gear was out I might as well wash the whole thing. Spent about 4.5 hours and then this morning when the sun was on the front I could see lots of marks on the front blind - shadows of bugs on the windscreen that I hadn't got off yesterday, but couldn't really see when the sun wasn't on it. But a much smaller job for another day.
I've had it since August and this is the fourth wash. Inside gets cleaned after every trip, and during if away for more than a week.

About 40 years ago I worked with an old guy in a drawing office. When someone arrived for a job interview he always had a sneaky look at their car. He always said that someone who kept their car clean and in good condition was more likely be a meticulous worker. I don’t know if there is any truth to that statement but he was a very good judge of character.

What did he think if they arrived by bus or cycled? 🙂

Normally once a week, or every other.

The roof gets done when needed which is normally every 2 months or so.

Full polish as needed and wax / seal three times a year.

It is a bit of a joke as I struggle to go away if the van is not clean…. And it is not unknown I clean while away , last Croatia trip we had a thunderstorm and I was out using the rain to clean….

We have a bit of an arms race as my neighbour who has a VW camper is the same and we have some friendly rivalry on cleaning kit and cleaning standards🤣

God's washing mine at the moment. While I relax and have breakfast, and he/she/it does not charge. P.s. it's bucketing down here in central Portugal.

Whilst we're discussing this. At 67 and height challenged female I get someone else to do it! My question is about the roof. Just how strong are they? Can someone stand on them for cleaning or is that to be avoided at all costs.. thanks in advance

I don't go on the roof to wash it I have high step ladders and use a brush, the first time I did to do the initially clean then the 4x ladder wash a year keep it good 👍🏻
I am 17 stone on a good day and our roof supports me no problem but I use a spreader mat.

How often? When I can't find the keyhole. Seriously, thorough wash & polish annually and a quick slosh over if particularly grubby as required. Clean the solar panel before a trip.

I’m with Geraldine cliffanger , why do you men care so much. When I came home from the gym on Monday Nick was terribly thrilled to tell me that some magic potion had been very good at removing tar from the wheel arches . You’d think after nearly 43 years he’d know I don’t care.

I don’t know why that snippet has snuck in my mind, probably just to add to my list of resentments. It was his Bday yesterday and he was 70 so I must be nice this week :giggle:

I think I wash the roof twice a year. And the rest of the van when it looks dirty. I was quite amazed as started washing the roof at 2pm and by 4.30 I had managed to was the whole van by 4.30 and leather it off. and I am 73.
Had to drink a bottle of red wine in the evening and take some paracetamol. But managed to take the dog for a walk in the morning.
Elddis 185 so it’s quite big.
Just wash it when it looks dirty. And drink plenty of red wine.

I prefer not to bring mud and big dirt back into drive so pull into a self wash station and in 8 mins it looks amazing (it’s silver) otherwise every 2/3 short trips - always the windscreen, mirrors and camera etc before each trip and not worked out how to clean roof yet? Ie how to do it without falling off a ladder 🪜 I can see from my bedroom window that’s it’s pretty good 😊 I did use some amazing no water spray cleaner that leaves a wax finish - you do have a fair bit of cloth work and it took over 2 hours to clean and polish while van but boy did it glean 🌟

Mine gets a quick wash 2 or 3 times a year. It is a grey blue tint that hides dirt and the ceramic coat also helps it to wash easily
