I'd use a different garage next time. I don't know about how difficult the job was but removing the alternator and a couple of hoses doesn't sound like a full days work to a competent garage mechanic to me ?

Unfortunately expats in Spain suffer the same. I sometimes think that we have £/€ signs stamped on our foreheads
