No , damp check and under spray a requirement to maintain anti damp warranty.
Last year basic service and damp check cost £348.

What do they spray with and why ?
Sounds like a scam for extracting the customers £££`s as painfully as possible.

It's an aerosol of underseal they spray all the cable and pipe entry points on the underside of the floor.
A waste of time IMO with a GRP floor. UK dealers charge £36 for the can seen it on our Belgium dealers shelf at €17.

They spray a GRP floor with a cheap can of black goo, having first thought up a great way to extract a fortune by saying cable entry points require protection.
Never heard such a load of trash.

It’s like a thin black under seal sprayed around all underfloor joints, bearing in mind the floor is grp, presumably it prevents water penetration at the joints.
To maintain the 7year damp warranty it must be carried out and registered by the dealer on the Hymer website for the first five years from new.

I paid Mertrux £650 for my last 2 year service, with MOT that's just the Mercedes bit

so I reckon unless you have been quoted prepare yourself for a big bill o_O

If you want the warranty you pay the price, a choice you take.

I only ever pay £60 for the damp check don't see the point of hab checks nothing I can't do myself.

The hab check includes checking all gas joints and it’s something I will leave to them.

I can live with the £60 I pay and that includes the spray.

The truth is by the time the warranty runs out you will be a few grand better off than others who are paying for it all and let's face it with the Hyme r construction no one will have any expensive damp repairs, not possible even with a leak somewhere.

Yes I fully understand the position owners are in and need to protect the warranty, it does seem a bit of a con though you must admit.

I agree, especially as a leaky roof problem would probably not be covered by warranty if the damp check and underbody spray was not completed.

£445 inc paperwork to say what they have done. (y)

I’m going for £1000 + blood

I have just paid £220 for full service on my Fiat including break fluid change and a new rear wheel cylinder,,Dont bother with habitation check. BUSBY.

I’ll guess at £540 but how do you not already know, it’s all standard stuff unless you have given them permission to carry out repairs following MOT should it fail.

It's only money Larry, not being a Yorkshireman you will just pay the bill with a big smile on your face.;):)

Service including brake fluid change… The big 2 year service from

Fiat professional Dealer including air and oil filters and brake fluid is about £500

Habitation check from a large dealer with damp check can easily be £300

No idea about Hymers spray job but say £100 possibly included in habitation if you’re lucky

Mot £50?

Fit radio 3 to 4 hrs work depending how involved this is connecting cameras/multi function steering wheel? £70 an hour labour so £280 even at 2 hours @£70+vat you’re looking at £170

So my guess £1000+

If you use small independent garage of course you can cut the cost down

At 3 years and 7k on the clock I don’t think any repairs will be necessary , if there were issues they will ring me.

They have quoted £70 including vat to fit the radio and based on previous services I think your guess is on the high side, I hope
