Getting Better
I’m looking a smallish van/motorhome 2004 54000 miles and it looks very clean. It has had 10 previous owners… now that’s nearly 1 every 2 years, I feel that in that time the owners may not have been happy with it and got rid..?

What’s your thoughts…🤔

If you’re good at kicking tyres, maybe worth a punt, esp if the price reflects the number of previous owners.

Personally, I’d give it a miss.

Some vans get moved on quickly as the buyer realises it's not the layout for them. When we started I had 3 vans in the first 18 months. The last one was a layout we stuck with for some time.

I think it takes around 3/4 vans before you find the one for you.

Gina

We were very lucky and found our perfect one was the third one we looked at. We love him :)

It’s all on the condition of the individual van, you could get one with the same amount of owners, same age, that’s excellent condition and a good buy, then you could look at another with the same amount of owners, same age, that’s knackered and damp.

Have you seen it?

No, it’s up near Liverpool, it’s having a new mot today and he will give me some more pictures and info later… the previous mots on gov. Are pretty good and only a few advisories along the years, it’s a ford transit auto base..

Is it a dealer Garry or private? If private ask why he’s getting rid. 🤔

Our first van - a used one - we only kept for seven months. There was nothing intrinsically wrong with it, but I couldn't push the driving seat back far enough because of the kitchen unit. It was a French built Rapido, which would have been fine in left hand drive, with much more space, but RHD turned out a bummer for me. Mrs mikebeaches wasn't too impressed when I kept telling her she'd have to drive... ;)

Oh and some years ago we bought a Citroen C3 at six months old - it had already had two previous owners! It made us wonder, but we kept it in the family for thirteen more years. (y)
