Maybe a dumb question but here goes, when ya fill yer water tank up in the motorhome does it automatically fill the hot water Boiler ? Many thanks.

Yes. If you’ve drained the system fully, then you’ll need to bleed out all the air by running the taps individually on hot and cold settings. This will bleed out any air and fill the boiler.

Solution
When you fill your tank it will only fill your tank. Then you operate the hot tap (Pump power on) and this will then pump water from tank into boiler and fill the hot water pipes. So after a drain down and you want full capacity, fill your tank, bleed through the hot and cold systems, then top up you tank again. You will have about another 20ltrs required.

If you haven’t drained the hot water system , it’s always full of water
IE if your cold water storage tank runs out of water , the hot water tank is still full of water
just like in your hot water cylinder in your house

Make sure any drain off valves are closed, boiler + cold storage tank. It may also be worth flushing the systems through with a weak citric acid solution if the van is coming out of storage, or is new to you.
