Hi I have a hookup plug on my garage, is it good or bad to leave the motorhome on a hookup when parked on my drive. Will it be detrimental to the leasure battery.

I have heard reports of batteries being damaged by constant charging, even with an intelligent charger.

Many people put the ehu on a timer for an hour or two a day.

I’ve wondered about that. What happens when your vans in storage over winter, not on hook up and van not running for a few weeks. My van battery is on a trickle charge but leisure battery will go flat surely then it’ll be goosed ?

Welcome to the world of solar panels. That will sort you out if no EHU around.

Mine is on hookup all the time it’s parked up. Not a problem if it has a smart charger, which most do.

Hook up is fine for a week if it's a normal charger . intelligent ones are best though.
As said you can fit a timer clock.

Cab battery can be charged over winter with a small windscreen solar panel...

Leisure battery should be taken home if you don't have solar for them and charged ones a week or so over winter
