Look for stainless exhaust specialists in your area , they are quite used to making custom exhausts ,and you get one that is everlasting (almost). where are you going in Europe as you might well get it done there for less ? :)

Do not buy it in France unless you want the exhaust to exit on the wrong side, ie nearside.

Yes Standard fiat on alko chassis
Assuming yours is RHD it may well be easier getting a replacement at home so keep in well supported and nurse it home would be my suggestion.

I had my exhaust replaced last winter in Spain (Citroen 2007 base). They sourced a RHD version for me next day. Reasonable price. Don't think its a big issue quickly getting correct parts these days (for the base vehicle, at least :) )

In general, exhausts in France are much more expensive than the UK.. Cars as well... Used to take our s back to the UK if it needed replacing..

Though servicing I find cheaper..

Back in the day ('bout 1973) I went to a garage that had a redundant workshop. They allowed me to use the hydraulic lift, get underneath and bodge a silencer repair using 'Gun Gum,' (other products may be available) some strong wire and an oil can, (remember those) cut up, and wrapped around the offending hole.
Couldn't afford a silencer and we had to do a 700 mile round trip for a funeral.
That repair lasted months.

You asked how I patched it up luckily it's on a straight bit of pipe her indoors says I'm bit of a bodger so here goes
Take one tin of tomatoes and empty in saucepan take empty tin and cut longways in half wrap around exhaust fill with gum gum add a jubi clip tighten and hey presto quiet as a mouse up to you if you eat the tomatoes

As Bill says, sounds like a permanent repair. Do not worry about getting a replacement exhaust on account of just that one leak.

Years ago my father had the exhaust blow on a Mk2 Ford Consul in Germany. No chance of getting a replacement, nothing the Ford dealer had got close. In the end he persuaded the workshop to weld up the hole, I think with a piece of metal. Lasted until he sold the car years later.

Ah, the Mk2 Consul - lovely vehicle; learned to drive on it. Bench seat, column change (3 forward gears!)

No, that's the upmarket "375" model, a prettyfied version with lots of chrome. Still desirable though and now fetching big bucks, even in "original" condition.
