Hi , our shower tap has broken, do we have to replace with exactly the same (swift Bessacarr ) out of stock and expensive , or are they universal ? any recommendations for suppliers please ?

Swift don't make taps and plenty to choose from on ebay. All the converters do is buy in bulk standard parts and fit them. Same with caravans and most parts are interchangable

Before you buy a tap first check whether it is a microswitch version (wires underneath) or a normal one (no wires), if the former you'll need to ensure you get one like this again, if the latter you can use any kitchen tap you wish, not just MH ones.

I've tried to find your tap with no luck finding anyone with one in stock - you could ring O'Learys and see if they have one as they get a load of ex-Swift 'new' old stock, much more than is on their website:

That is a Reich Vector shower mixer tap. Similar to the one we have in our motorhome, only ours has a microswitch. Try searching on google for it.

I've spent ages looking for one for the OP, can't find one for sale anywhere, some sellers list them but no stock unfortunately ...

Still unclear what the problem actually is. It doesn't look broken so is it leaking?

If had two issues with Reich taps, one with a shower mixer tap in our old CI (shower wasn't properly drained in winter and it started leaking) and one with the sink tap in my own conversion (wouldn't turn off properly).

On both occasions I was able to buy a tap cartridge from screwfix for around a fiver and fix in ten mins.

Slightly different method to dismantle depending on the tap, but usually starts by prising of a little logo that covers a grub screw. Take the grub screw out, remove the lever and work from there.
