Hi Folks, I've been lurking for a while - subscribed in the New Year and thought it was about time I said hello to everyone
Caravanned with a young family through the 80's and 90's, then bought an ageing Swift Kontiki MH in 2002 to drive around France looking for a house to buy, selling the MH in 2004 to fund the house renovation.
I've split my time between Hampshire and France ever since but the yearning for a camper returned last year, having exhausted my enthusiasm for a tent, which isn't the best way to follow the TDF and F1 - especially when the first flush of youth has passed....
Found an Autotrail Cheyenne in September, arranged delivery in mid-Oct and was seriously miffed when I was diagnosed with NH Lymphoma the same week I picked up the Cheyenne....
About halfway through chemo now and unlikely to get the MH over the water until Easter but hoping to get away here in the next weeks between treatments. Dealer has now resolved a couple of issues, so no more excuses....
Not seeking sympathy, BTW - I can't complain as I've had a darn good run health-wise so far - and I'm well aware that I've a very treatable condition so, once the docs throw off the shackles, it'll be nice to resume a normal life!
