I need some help with a microwave oven I bought in Spain today. It came with instructions only in Spanish and Flemish. Its a Carrefour Home HMG20D-14 and I have no idea how the damned thing works. Have tried Google for an English manual with no success. Any funsters who can find anything on the net will be suitably rewarded. I hate cold lumumba.

Not sure if this will help:

http://www.manualbuzz.com

I think you have to tell it if you want it to grill or microwave or both (maybe the top row of buttons) and then twist the knob to set the time. Unless I actually see it I can't really help.....

Thanks for the link Puddleduck but unfortunately its not listed. I will try and get a photo up tomorrow.

If you want a picture. I think this is the one.

Is it Dave.
I have been looking for user manual in English Dave but only managed to find ones that you have to pay for.

Woop, woop. Thats the one. I was thinking it is made by someone else and badged up as a Carrefour Home. Many thanks for that. All I now need is to find out how it works.

It will all be done with symbols and be entirely intuitive - but not to any normal person!

I can't find a manual online for it in English or French. I did find it in an old French lidl catalogue though so perhaps at some point they have sold it in the UK under a different brand...

Guess it's back to the BBq then lol

Its looking that way Sue. Its my lumubas that are the problem. I found some very thick drinking chocolate here and it makes superb lumumba, but its so thick if I warm it in a pan, it burns.

If you have a smart phone(iPhone?) you can use the App WORD LENS and it will translate the manual to English.

Being a bit of a dinosaur I only have a normal phone as I only use it to speak to people. I have difficulty with the TV remote so not much chance of one of these new fangled phones.

There's nothing worse than problems with you lumubas  I had problems with mine, but the ointment cleared it up. :D

I have had a search around, but no help sorry.

I read on one forum though that some of these microwaves have a child lock which stops all operation until it's unlocked.

Suggest you press every button again!

Could you ask one of your Spanish friends locally to translate the basics for you...?

I think that is what I will have to do. The downside to that is that they will want to demonstrate with an extra glass of lumumba

Thats what I need Chris, a 5 year old (y). They will definitely know how to work it. If I have problems with my laptop, I ask my 5 year old grandson. Will Skype him later.

On Google chrome browser is a translate facility, or do a search for an online translator, there was one called babelfish.

Put it in a pan Inside another pan with hot water in it. You can then put both pans on the stove to gently heat
