Can someone who knows about computers help me.

Every time I start to type something in the Search Bar on Google I get free adverts pages coming up on the screen. I've tried to uninstall but cannot find the programme as whats in the bar is not in my programmes anywhere and also its different everytime.

Can anyone help please its driving me nuts:Eeek:

maybe not much help Ror but try a different search engine and see if they still pop up.

if you use internet explorer then under the red X ,right hand side, is a dropdown box, change to another search engine there.

Thanks Diablo I'll try it :thumb:

Hi

Try going to programs - accessories - system tools - systemrestore and restore to the last time you were OK
Then delete all cookies and temporary internet files
It always works for me (touch wood)

Hi, Diabalo

I don't know if you meant to give a link to Spybot S&D Search and Destroy which is free albeit you can make a donation if you wish as it really is good. Only I think the link you have given is to a chargeable piece of software that uses a similar name to

This is where you can find the free version of SpyBot

The home of Spybot-S&D!

hope that helps, I am pretty sure it should cure the problem

Hi Ror,

Download a free product called "Malwarebytes" and run a couple of Full system scans.

Steve.

Oh dear, been there got the tee shirt.

I had exactly the same problem a year or so ago, drove me mad though they were quality ads, casinos, holidays etc rather than 'medical' products.

I know how it happened, I clicked on something I shouldn't have:Blush:, not suggesting this it what happened in your case:Wink:

Anyway after trying every other solution I could think of (I already had all the usual anti-spyware and anti-virus programmes loaded so the bug had slipped past these) I saved all my documents & email addresses on a memory stick and reformatted my hard drive. This is quite an undertaking as it involves reloading all your programmes from the original CD's (so make sure you've still got them!) though computer experts often recommend that this is done once a year or so as a sort of spring clean for the computer.

Try everything else first though!!

Sounds like a Browser Hijacker to me.

Try Malwarebytes first. It really sorts out these sort of things.
