I’m a newb!
Hello,

We have narrowed our search to 2 vans. 1 is 1999 Peugeot Boxer chassis & the other is 2001 Mercedes Sprinter chassis automatic. P has under 50k miles & M has over 100k miles. I like the interior style of the P more & although nearly identical layout, the P also seems a better quality interior which I find strange. Pluses for the M are a reversing cam & those air seats in the cab. P costs £13500 with 5 months MOT part history & Private sale. M costs 14995 with 12 months MOT, full service history, 3 months warranty & habitation check done & cert supplied. Which would you choose?

Just been advised that the dealer has made a mistake and that the Mercedes weighs 3800 kg ??‍♀️ So so annoyed because our pros list was weighing on the side of the Merc ?

Take your test if that is the 3800kg issue the you are not limited and in danger of running overweight anyway.

The test is expensive but will allow you later to drive heavier vans with greater payload.
However, as it is a first van, perhaps the cheaper van would allow you to discover the pro's and con's of motorhoming and enable you to make an advised choice next time and there will be a next time.
