hello all

I joined this forum to gain some advise from the more experienced among you

My last motorhome was an Autosleeper Legend, a great small one when my kids were very wee but we gre out of it.

I am considering buying a 2002 CI Carioca 656 as my kids are 13 and 10 now so the fixed bunks looks good.

Someone told me to steer clear of continental motorhomes die to build quality.

I wondered if anyone on here could give me the benefit of their exoerience with this model?

Very odd advice. It is generally considered to be the opposite but unfortunately you have to pay for quality, hence many 'continental' vans can be more expensive.
The Carioca is a product from CI caravans, once, I think, British then Dutch but now Italian. The vans often come under the 'budget' category but nonetheless are both popular and long lived. If it suits your needs and is sound and damp free (this is always important) why not go for it?

Good to see a new face,

You wouldn't have been involved in motorsport in your younger days?
Along with a sibling?

Ok, mistaken identity, no offence meant

You'll find most everyone on here will offer helpful, occasionally sarcastic advice, it's all good banter.
Enjoy.

There's always a few bad ones whatever you choose. Take a damp meter with you and use your eyes and nose.
Are you buying private?

Hello Welcome to Fun, not sure who gave you that advice but think they don't know as much about motorhomes as they think they do. Good luck in your search for a new van.

Welcome to the fun. I would suggest you pay the subs and you will be able to post more than 5 times. Best £15 you could spend IMHO.

With regards to the question, continental vans are at least as good as UK ones, if not better, as others have said. However I do not have any knowledge of CI, so cannot be sure. It is not a brand that you see a lot of in the UK, although they seem popular on the continent.

many many years! since I was a kid
budget brand European vans can be a bit dodgy with build quality, however the premium ones are excellent
