I tried using my multi meter on 230 volts and had it set wrong ... Pop went a fuse internally.
I've replaced the fuse and the display seems to work but all readings are nonsense
Have I wrecked it, I think I know the answer....

Its dead Jim.. Wouldn't trust after that

I really will have to try reading the instructions in future.
Crash course in multi meter usage I think
Thanks to all for the confirmation

Don’t replace the fuse with a metal screwdriver bit, then check the voltage on a battery but forget you had it plugged into the amps socket......

I thank my lucky stars it was an external battery compartment.

if as i expect this is just a cheap £10 meter, save the leads and battery and put the rest in the bin. All they are is a plastic case, a few cheap chips on a mass produced board with a cheap LCD screen. Certainly not worth trying to recalibrate.
