Apparently, you just plug it into your regular TV, and it turns it into a Smart TV, isn't that what the fire stick does??? Just asking as it is being offered half price for today and not sure if it is a con. Thanks, Gina.

If all it provides is internet then a fire stick will do that.
However, perhaps it gives access to a pure android platform rather than Amazon s version.

Is it this? www.tvsuperboost.com

Looks like a dongle which will let your 'phone, laptop, tablet etc stream to the TV so depending on what data those afore mentioned bits of tech can stream then technically I guess they become the 'brains' of the TV and make it 'smart'. Np doubt someone who actually knows what they are talking about will put me right on this in a minute . . .

According to a google search it appears to be a scam, certainly looks suspicious.

Yes, thank you that is the one. I suspected it was a scam advert though:unsure:

Thanks. I was suspicious but thought I would check it out with other funsters first(y)

Looks like a Chromecast knockoff. I had a Chromecast years ago before I stuck an Apple TV in the MH but so many good streamers to pick from now like Roku, fire stick, etc.

It is a chromecast which I preloaded with apps and then sold on for alot more

Samething is done with firesticks, preloaded with IPTV and then a monthly subscription sold for around £19.99 a month. In reality it only cost £30 a year for the IPTV.

We use a Roku Streaming Stick with our non-smart Avtex TV. We’re very pleased with it.

We bought it from Amazon a while back, when it was on offer (- and cheaper than the Amazon Firestick). I‘ve just checked their website, and I see that their Firestick is on offer at the moment ….

That is right. Only a device to hook your phone or laptop to a TV. Expensive too!

This thread is from October 2022 ... think Ginam's probably sorted by now. :giggle:
