We are with Avon CMC at the hot air balloon fiesta here near Bristol. Someone here spoke about an incinerator toilet - Cinderella. Apparently it incinerates your toilet contents. Anyone got one?
It costs thousands - is it worth it? We wouldn’t even consider it.

Have you ever been near a stables or a farm when they burn a dung heap? Not pleasant

If it costs thousands, what's the point ?
Emptying a cassette isn't the nicest job but not something you'd pay thousands to avoid.

They do exist. Unfortunate name for the mobile version. :) My concern would be how much gas they use and presumably the vent would need to come out on the roof.

Surely they would just run off Natural Gas:giggle::giggle::giggle:

Not sure about the gas ones but the electric ones use between 1.8 and 2 Kw's, a burn cycle lasts about 1 hour and I believe would need to be done around once every two weeks for a couple depending of course on how often it's used. Not first hand experience I'm afraid just what I've read.

Hard to justify the cost, at least the seat stays warm in the winter.

Thought only hippy types smoked S#&T

I'm confused. It only needs burning off every couple of weeks for a couple, and there is an ashtray sized tray to remove. I can fill a cassette single handed in 4 days without trying too hard, so where is the equivalent of 4 cassettes held before the burning process?

The one I looked at on you tube had two flaps one at the front and one at the back which hang down part way into the toilet, when you're making a deposit these flaps are together at the bottom, after you've finished you pull a leaver the flaps open and the contents drop down into the void below which is quite large, bigger then a cassette. Once that void is full you do a burn cycle which reduces the contents to ash which can then be removed and disposed of. It also had a fan in the flue so when you lift the lid any smell is drawn out through the flue rather like a sog.

Apparently the gas ones only use 125 grams of gas per cycle which isn't too bad but the intial cost is very high.

I'm still struggling with the volumes involved, in where it could be stored and how it could all be gone in 1 hour!

Did you look at the link? there is a video which shows how it works, the model shown is a newer one then the one I looked at on youtube (no lever) but the principal is the same you have the whole of the void below the pan to fill up.

I could see one of these being fitted in large luxury motorhomes from new in the future possibly.

Yeah, I did, but I still can't see it. That void = about 2 cassettes ?

My late cousin had a cottage on Galway bay which had an incinerator toilet. He reckoned it used a lot of lecky but as he only went there on occasional weekends he was possibly cycling it with small loads.

Actually I think I misunderstood about the capacity because I've just viewed another video where it is doing a burn cycle after each use which lasts about 15 minutes so maybe they meant you only have to empty the ash tray after two weeks.
