I have recently used SV Tech to do the necessary administration to upgrade our MoHo as per the title. I am about to send the v5 to DVLA for them to update the GVW details on the v5. Is there a cost for the DVLA to do this element.

Thanks

No cost when upgrade in weight keeps you within same taxation bracket, in your case private heavy goods.

No cost involved ... however DVLA will probably update the V5 to show the revised Revenue weight and ignore the GVW.
Make sure you mark this on the old V5 and include in a covering letter. It took me some years of arguments with DVLA and was only satisfactorily finalized with the intervention of my local MP.

Make sure you scan or photocopy a copy of all that you send to the DVLA including your old V5 and hold onto it and make sure you send all the paperwork to the DVLA by Royal Mail Broken Link Removed so you have proof that they have received it if you have any problems with the DVLA.
Some in the past have said it a cost not needed but have live to regret their words when the DVLA have said that they have not received their paperwork.

Some V5's do not , but if you have an entry in section F.1 Max. permissible mass, make sure you do as @icantremember says.

I in fact sent a photocopy of the V5 rather than the original and it all came through in about 4weeks

Is this upgrade to cover all the items you bought at the Norfolk show Derry? ;)

Regards Phil.

A big big thank you for all responders above. Before I seal the envelope ready to post 1st class recorded delivery tomorrow, I have one last question, do I send the complete existing v5 of just the signed page with the changes. I will of course include the SV Tech sign off converters plate document.

Hello Phil. First off, lovely to hear from you. Jenny and I regretted not asking you all for your forum names so we could have kept in touch. We thought we may have seen Keith and his good lady arriving on an aire at Carcassonne just as we were pulling out back in August (nearly turned around to see if he was up for cooking breakfast the next day ha ha). Unlike the Norfolk show where we were lucky having left it so late to book a pitch, that The Warners staff allowed us to Join the rest of the Funsters in the fun area, we never had the same luck at the Shepton Mallet show. If my memory serves me right I believe you were going to miss out on the Shepton Mallet show in lieu of a Folk show.

Now back to the gist of your question, believe it or not, of all the cr*p (sorry items) we purchased at the show, we only ended up using the small picnic table. the rest is gathering dust along with all the other impulse buys in the garden shed.

Take care, and who knows we might hopefully bump into you all at one of the shows in 2020, if not further afield. Jenny & Derry

No cost and about 5 week wait to get the paperwork back.
Whose ar*e were you licking, took 4½ months for them to get it right on my last van.

DVLA (as with other massive companies) have bulk mail delivered, it gets delivered in sacks to a delivery point.....no signature required

Yes it does, Special delivery requires a signature of acknowledgement that it has been received, and I can probably still access the signature when the DVLA received mine if you want to see it, because I checked they had received it on Royal Mail's website.

Same here. I know DVLA can be a real problem but I've (touch wood) always had decent experience with them.

left hand page of the original v5 complete with stated changes along with the SV Tech sign off converters plate document sent RM 1st class recorded this morning. I'll check the tracker number tomorrow to see if its been received.
Then its a case of fingers cross I suppose.

You can check the DVLA website to see when the changes have been made before you receive the new V5.

IMV there's never any point in sending anything to the DVLA as Special Delivery, Recorded delivery etc, simply because, even though you may be able to prove they've received the documentation, if they've lost it there's not a lot you can do about it ... it's lost so you have to send it again anyway! Also never EVER send in the originals of any docs except the V5C.

According to RM tracker the letter was delivered and signed for today. I'll leave it a couple of days as "Icantremenber" say's then check progress via the DVLA's own tracker.

Incantremember I've been on the DVLA web site but cant find the tracker you mention. Please could you tell me whereabouts the tracker can be found.
Thanks - Derry

You need your Driving Licence Number, your N.I. number and your post code

Sorry disregard this I've given the link for a license. I'll get the correct link.

I think he means that if you go to the 'vehicle enquiry service' you can put your registration number in and it will give you the details if your MH is registered, if not then it won't give you any info:

This is what it brings up when I put my reg in:
