Old ones were 15yrs newer ones are 10yrs probably more cost efficient to flog old bottle on ebay and just buy new one - check out what numptys pay for used ones on sold listings on ebay

Old style is 15 years and the newer R67 is 10 years from date stamped on bottle. As neither dates are due yet, Gaslow aren't sure how exchange will take place.

I have spoken to Gaslow in the past about future bottle change at expiry date. They advised that they will give a discount on new bottles if you exchange the old ones. I cannot remember the discounted price though.

perhaps.. but

diesel motorhomes will be either obsolete, banned in most urban areas, or taxed out of existence

diving shops are experienced, inspection and test with certificate, not expensive.

Funny that the PRV manufacturers say that they should be replaced every 10 years ?

There's no reason why they can't be refurbished as other gas cylinders. The valve is taken out, the cylinder pressure tested, repainted (usually industrial gasses), new valve and then stamped or re dated..

My 30 year old built in tank has never been tested?

The nonsensical part is that ,apart from the UK, when they become over 25 years of age or classed as 'historic' , 'old-timers' etc, they become exempt , especially in Germany, from the requirements of the emission zones.
In my case mine is exempt + from the London lez.
Also due to age it is exempt from any road tax:xThumb: & the best part of all ,it will run on any type of fuel. So when the French prices rise I fill in aldi's or Lidls' :xlaugh:

Are you talking visual or hydro test certainly hydro is more expensive than visual although nowhere near the pressure diving cylinders are pumped up to and if it does fail it will still cost the test fee

When I enquired about the cost of testing an Alugas bottle it almost came to the price of a new bottle.

I personally cannot see inspection and testing either being financially viable or even actually worth doing personally.
My guess is many will just keep on using what they have until an insurance company has a claim and says “No “ :xrofl:
