About to buy again!
Exp
Several years
Going to fit a twin bottle gasit system. I have seen that some people have been refused a fill up with the in locker filler as opposed to the one fitted into the body work. Is this common or just a rare event. Would prefer the in locker filler as it can be removed when selling the motorhome.

Our filler is in the locker, never had a problem in 8 years 👍

As above -- I've never had a problem with with filling my Safefill bottles

Fit the filler in the sill and when you sell the van just leave the filler or put a blanking plug in the hole. The small square filler is neater.

I've even been refused with an external filler but I blagged it & told them it was a tank, can't do that with an internal filler.

Its down to how 'lucky' you are at the time you need gas. We've had internal and been refused and external and been refused but the chance of being refused with an external one is much, much less.

Use the small square filler rather than the large round one and you'll likely find somewhere to fit it without having to cut a great big hole, the small black square is the filler for our gas system which I fitted myself. If I want to take it out int he future I can just leave the black plastic cover and take the rest out (the plastic covers are cheap).

Nice and discrete is the way to go.

It is about not giving them an excuse. In Italy it is illegal to fill up with LPG for anything other than engine power. First time we tried outside of Milan we got a complete refusal. But heading South it got more lax. Second time the guy filling up (self service not allowed) asked "engine?" and I said "yes" and he filled it. The next time further South we were not even asked. But I am sure that we would not have got a way with it if I had to show him my Gasit cylinders.

Same in Spain & I think Portugal, the only places we have been refused is Portugal & Itay but there is always another garage that will fill you.

Never had a problem with internal, but, never been to Portugal or Italy.
