My current MH has 2 x propane gas bottles, I’m looking at a new MH that has a built in refillable tank.

Question is how user friendly are refillable tanks, especially when touring in Europe and again when further afield ?

Don’t be afraid refillable bottles are brilliant particularly in Europe. Buy a pack of 3 adapters and you are all sorted.

Yes, now you would think that after all this time of EU togetherness, the filler points would be the same! You need a UK end fitted to the van and 3 different adapters for EU travels.
However I think the convenience of not having to lump the cylinders about and also no worries about not being able to exchange Calor bottles abroad, well worth having refillable.
Each refil much cheaper of course.

There are 3 adaptors you need ,they are available as a kit of 3 from gasit or gaslow, they fit into the UK filler bayonet screw portion and are different for France ,Spain and portugal.and allow you you to connect the pump nozzle to your gas inlet in Europe.

Only on newer filler points, some of the filler points for underslung tanks I have seen, you need a screw in adaptor that has the UK bayonet. Then need different types to adapt for the various countries. A photo of the filler that is fitted to the new van will allow more precise answers

They are all fairly easy to source though

Much more user friendly than having cylinders. For a start I now have a massive beer and wine locker where 2 13kg cylinders used to live. I have a 55l underslung tank and the differing connections required to fill up anywhere in Europe. There is also on my dash a gauge telling me how much gas I have.

We have a 55litre underslung too, is the gauge you have on the dash accurate?

Yeah I think so. I’ve never let it get too low but usually fill when about half to quarter and I seem to put in about what I would expect.

Thanks, What make is it and is it easy to link up to the tank?
I had it fitted at Autogas 2000. The filler is the standard U.K. connection and I have three that fit into the U.K. connection by screw thread. Really easy to fill up. I’ve filled up in France, Spain, Portugal and Germany. So have used all three of the different connectors. No problem . Only screw in the European connectors hand tight as they can be tight to remove after filling due to the very cold lpg.

Sorry, yes we have all the connectors to fill up, i was talking about the gauge, how is it linked to the tank, wired or remote?
