Just filled my 6kg gas cyl as it was reading empty.. but took only 7 ltr ..any better ideas on a more accurate way of telling the amount of gas in the cylinder ?

A few Funsters have purchased a Bluetooth gauge that attaches to the bottom of a cylinder - I have one and am very pleased with the readings/accuracy. Take a look at ’Mopeka’ - you pair it with your phone and get readings direct via an app.

The needle guages supplied by gaslow and gasit do tend to be very hit and miss. The new magnetic ones with a bluetooth app on the phone seem to work well

Our gauge drops to empty at half full, I think they all do. (y)

My 11kg alugas bottles show full till half empty then drop rapidly to zero when theres still a few litres left. Just a guide but better than nothing ( just)

I've just replaced the toy plastic ones with in-line gauges. Hoping they will be more reliable. The previous ones would jump from full to empty at a touch. Also when filling would still show empty but by the time I get home would show full. They finally snapped off altogether! We'll see how the new ones do. Not expecting strict accuracy but a fair idea of content will do me.

We had similar with our 11kg gas-it bottle. One minute the gauge was showing full, the next empty. Went to refill it and only took little more than half the capacity.
