Hi all is there anything I can fit to my gas bottle to let me know when I’m near empty

What about a gaslow meter?

I'm about to buy one. Used one on my boat for years and relied on it.

I wonder if a thermometer probe on the bottom of the bottle would be useful. As the last bit of liquid evaporates the temperature will drop. Works in theory but never tried it.

We use this, don’t know if it’s of any use to you. I’ve got it on the control panel with the rest of the gauges.

If it relies on the same measurement as the clip on gasit gauge it's not that accurate. Our stays on full until 1/3 left then plumets to empty. But it does the job when it says empty we fill up and have a few days grace if we can't find a place to fill straight away

Simplest solution is to have 2 gas bottles with the reserve bottle turned off.

When the main bottle runs out (usually when it's raining cats & dogs) just switch over to the reserve.

The gaslow gauge mentioned above records pressure. But the pressure does reduce when the bottle contents get low. I've got one, mainly for leak detection.

I got the same as Badknee. The sender unit is screwed with two minuscule screws onto a recess near the middle off the unde slung tank. Manual valve version.
When it gets to about 1/4 stays red.
Does the job.

I have a Gasit sensor that is fitted on the bottom of the bottle and this gives me my gas bottle level on my phone via an app (or you can have a monitor as shown) Gasit website has it,I believe it is a Mopeka product, and it works well.

We have a truma? Gauge that weighs the bottle in it's mount and has a gauge in the van-------- it seems foolproof if nothing can touch the bottle to affect the weight---------as it happens we don't use the one in our van as we have a big underslung tank and never need to use the bottles-----and the same system in our caravan we can't use as the gas bottles are used laying down ( American ones from our demountable camper) probably could modify the caravan one but we just have one bottle turned off so we know when the one we are using is empty!!

We have Mopeka gauges on our bottles too. We used to have a Gas-It led gauge on a previous van but it was woefully inaccurate.
