Hi Funsters

Does anyone know of a LPG GAS GUage that really works on a refillable twin bottle system.?

Thanks Bertyboy

If you have the 4 hole bottles you can fit a float gauge but I've never seen a 4 hole bottle without one.

The only one we have found that works as is accurate is the Mopeka unit which Gas-it is now the UK distributor.

Although i have auto change over i only have one bottle open at a time, when that one runs out open the other then refill at next chance. Didn't realise when first had system fitted 12 years ago auto change over was not neccessary. System now on third van.

Our auto changeover tells us when bottles have changed over inside the van. Not much point in having an auto changeover if you still have go out when it's hissing down to turn a bottle on.

My auto change over is in gas locker not as sophisticated as yours, we is poor peasants. I must have been lucky never in 12 years have i got wet opening second bottle.

It seems with all gauges, gas, water, waste then head display units are getting more sophisticated but at the tank end it’s still the same rubbish. As our computer guy used to say, crap in very neat crap out. After a while you get to know your usage and can use gauges with caution

Thanks everybody for your answers certainly given me food for thought

My underslung Gas-It tank has a very accurate gauge...
...when the indicator changes to red, I know I have half a tank left

Twin bottle Gaslow system with no changeover - just open one bottle valve and close the other, simples! When a bottle runs out I know exactly how much gas I've got left so just go and refill when next available - after a few years I'm pretty confident about how long a bottle will last. The bottle gauges are quite accurate - when it goes from green to red there's half a bottle left. Well that's "accurate"!

Oh yes, it ALWAYS runs out in the middle of the night, the fridge flashing warning light wakes me up! If it's raining I pull the bedclothes over my head..................................! :tounge:

I can also recommend the Mopeka (Gas-it) gas level system that is used with my refillable bottle.
Me too, it uses ultrasonic level detectors under each cylinder, then either use the Bluetooth remote display, or the app on your phone

I Also reccomend the mopeka system bought from Amazon.com direct from the states
Currently $64 + 24 shipping costs to uk for twin system. Uses ap with european sizes
