Just back from a week down south where we stopped close to a few canals, we find them ideal for cycling and walking. Anyway on to my point, while out cycling from Bugsworth to Marple locks we stopped to chat with some workers and thanked them for keeping the paths good. We then suggested they should look into allowing MHs to stay the night at some of their marina's, one of the guys mentioned they had started up a new work group to come up with money making ideas and suggested we email.

I’m thinking if a good few from here email them telling them how good it would be if MHs could stay a night or two. They already have everything we’d need there for the barges so shouldn’t cost much.

I’ve done it and mentioned the success of the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel.

Go on what have we got to lose we could spend 5 minutes in the hope it works, in the other hand we could do the same as the grumpy funster I met yesterday who just moaned and said “typical of the U.K.” nice meeting you to grumpy 😂😂

That’s a great idea. We too enjoy cycling along side canals. I’ll fill in the form.
If you haven’t been I’d recommend the Peak forest canal, great path and lovely scenery.

There's a pub in Marple Bridge that is very motorhome friendly - I will try to find the name in the morning. The owners have their own camper from memory

Went on the website and filled the form in with your suggestion.

Done: also mentioned I had stopped at river car parks in uk to kayak, would be great if more places opened up

Great idea and I’ll fill in the form.
I’ve stayed at Bridge House Marina, Garstang on many occasions. Granted it is a fully functioning campsite but I love watching people messing about on boats, and the walk into Garstang with its many pubs is great.

The Spring Gardens . We live in Romiley a mile or so away . They have an advert on the outside welcoming motorhomes.

All done Gerry, good idea!

We are currently on a narrowboat and did the Upper Peak Forest canal this winter.
I agree, it is a lovely canal, and would be good for walking and cycling too. The Navigator at Bugsworth does allow stopovers in its carpark, but it is quite a small car park.
I will fill in the form as well.
