Fuel on new year’s day

We are travelling from Madrid to Valencia tomorrow ( New Year’s Day ) does anybody know if petrol stations will be open, have been led to believe everything close for New Year’s Day
 
I'd be amazed to find any shut ? everything will be open usually.

You mean the Spanish aren't like the Brits.
Do enough shopping and buy enough fuel on new years eve to see out a medieval seige even though the shop MIGHT be closed for one day.

Supermarkets open in uk on new years day and they still shop for a siege..BUSBY.

Driving back through Tabua one New Years eve,about 13.30 hrs,there is "Yer man" sitting out on the forecourt. Next day,i asked Marillia our neighbour." Do they ever shut ?" Her reply was... " People have to get home " And you wonder why i love Portugal.... :xThumb: :xThumb: :drinks: :drinks: (y)

Nah Pappa its because they celebrate the three kings visiting Jesus rather than Xmas so boxing day is a normal working day to them, but don't worry they still get a hell of a lot more bank holidays than we do :xThumb:
