I ordered 30g and that was loads

I thought this stuff was applied between the heat sink and processor in a computer I was not aware of other uses, in that context you just need a very small amount.

I replaced ours after reading a post by tonka on the subject. I have to say that the F/F has worked excellently ever since, even with the sun on the vents side of the MH all day. Previously I was always adjusting the control to try and lower the temperature.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

So how much did you use the tubes i have are very small.

You take the heat sink fins off the back of your fridge and freezer take of old heat sink paste and reapply a good amount and it helps considerably with cooling the fridge and freezer

I was very surprised how much it assists with the cooling

There was very little of the old to remove when I did mine and it made a huge improvement on performance

It was Hanlzye HY610 Gold, 2 x 30g tubes, very similar to that shown by RM_Marine above. I paid around £6.45 per tube/syringe, and it definitely made a difference.

It has been blistering hot down here in the Swansea area today, with the sun on the vents all day. The fridge temperature was 4.5°C at 06.30, and is now 6.7°...........without the fans running. The temperature control is only on the half way setting.

HTH,

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I ordered 2 x 30g tubes and used one and a half for both fridge and freezer.

Anyone have any photos of exactly where they apply this wonder paste? Can’t see my fridge at moment as the van’s in storage but trying to visualise pipes behind cooling fins. Are these accessible from inside the fridge?

Once you take the cooling fins off (inside the fridge)it will be obvious where you need to apply it

Cheers

Yes, access from inside the fridge. Held in by 4 screws, so after removal just ease the cooling fins and back plate out, scrape off any old paste (no need to make it pristine) apply new paste and replace.

Somewhere on here i posted pics of mine but i'm struggling to find the thread that explains it all.
But here are some pics i found.

Inside fridge, heatsink panel at rear (pic 4). Remove sensor (pic 3) , unscrew heatsink (pic 2) . Clean off old paste and apply new.
Re-assemble.

Ordered a bigger tube came in a large syringe. Just started the fridge a very easy job. Unscrew the metal fins at top of fridge
( star type heads ) scrape off grey gunge which had hardened and just dropped of.
Clean rear of fins. Wipe off remains with meths. Apply new paste re fix fins 30 minute job.
