Arriving 2 hours late for our Euro tunnel crossing wasn't the best ever start to our latest French jaunt but by asking at the customer services desk nicely, we were put onto the next train leaving in 10 minutes. Mr Mousy very happy that I had been denied the chance to do some "duty free" shopping.
We arrived at La Touquet Paris Plage, almost midnight but only just getting dark! We awoke to this..
Grabbing the bikes we went off exploring, a great cycle track took us along the bay to..
... a French Weston-Super-Mare but sans donkeys...and people!
Mr Mousy fancied a coffee and croissant so being in the lead headed off up a street, you can imagine his dismay when we spotted this..
He came to a sudden stop whilst my little legs peddling the fastest ever swept past him. A market! Open! And FULL of stuff I could buy!
From wonderfully fresh fish and shellfish
To huge chunks of nougat
All sorts of baskets
Specially long brushes for Le camping car
To my favourite...cheeses
So what did I buy? Accidentally a kilo of cherries at €5.90. I was after 2 nectarines but something got lost in translation, a perfect start to our first morning in France.
