I managed to flatten the van battery on my Comanche. I don’t know how because I thought the charger tops up both van and leisure, My question is if I plug my own charger into the inverter which runs off the leisure battery will it charge the van one enough to start it.? Jack

Just put a cable from the positive of the leisure battery to the positive of the starter battery and leave it for a few hours, should do the trick. Disconnect before trying to start.

The inverter will take a hell of a lot more out of the hab battery than it will put in the starter battery and flatten it long before the starter battery is charged.

When the van's on ehu it should give a reading on the panel over the door of how much charge is being put into both batteries.

You don't say what year van or what Sargent system you have.
On my 2012 van with the EC500 you could select both the solar and EHU to do either leisure only / engine only / smart charge where it does both. So maybe check your settings if you have a system that does the same. 👍

Edit. Now seen your not on EHU ..

A trick I used with my Landrovers was to attach the poss lead of my jump cables between the winch battery poss and the starter battery poss terminal. This was normally enough after an hour to get the engine started.
With a motorhome as Lenny suggested you should be able to do this if you’re leisure battery is reasonably charged.
