No idea if this works as luckily our pup is fine with fireworks but if your dog is fearful it might be worth a try.

funnily enough Bev brought one home tonight from the NEC pet show, put it on Lola and she seemed fine, but sadly it was 30 minutes after the last of the local fireworks stopped o_O

can definitely confirm she didn't mind having it on though (y)

will try again, the rules seem to suggest keep putting it on for best effect, even without an obvious need, that said Lola has been stressed lately panting a lot more than normal, will see if it reduces that at least (y)

Its not dissimilar to the Thundershirt principle which cost an arm and a leg. We have one for our terrier but she still gets very traumatised.

We tried this with Buster last night. Isaac , one of our sons , had seen the idea on FB.
Buster just stood there. Ridged.
As he does when we put any kind of dog coat on him. We tried the half and also the full wrap. Which goes around the back legs too.
I used a thick bandage to do it.
I think if your dogs ok wearing a coat they may tolerate it.
It certainly stopped Buster following me about the house ( constantly, more than usual) But I don’t think it calmed him down.
The bangs weren’t as bad last night here. But Buster went into his cage with the blanket over and pheromone spray in it, willingly and seemed a lot more settled.

Our dog was going ballistic.

Anything wrapped around him or put on him is removed in seconds.

Hopefully I will be having a shower on my own tonight for a change, my boy JRT is always one pace behind when fireworks are about.
His sister is not so bad but barks when they go off and makes him more nervous:(

Lola did follow me into the smallest room of the house when I went, beside herself, properly scared :(

we are going to continue with the wrap idea, Lola doesn't mind it being on and we hope to reduce her panting excessively, which we have also noticed recently, not all the time so we presume some kind of stress related thing as well o_O

Yes David I think the panting is stress related too. Buster does it, when he is.

Mine pace around and will not settle down, not that I object to fireworks but it just seems to last weeks rather than just a couple of nights around the 5th..

@irnbru thanks Sandra, we will decline that thanks, she is so traumatised by the fireworks I fear this might just add to her fears, in the twilight of her life o_O a real shame she has suddenly developed this fear but will just sit through it with her, we very rarely leave her alone anyway, just need to be even more aware now

but thanks for the thought x

Now know Bev bought a quarter wrap which is smaller than yours in the post Dawn. No fireworks to really prove but Lola actually likes having it on :)
