Hi gang! I've posted elsewhere about our water pump, but we also had an issue with the MoHo being DOA when we went to pick it up from the storage facility. We had no alternative but to jump start it off a pickup truck. The "Range" is stuck on 34 miles despite having around £40 of diesel in it now, how do I get the "Range" to reset to a more realistic figure? I use this facility REALLY regularly so will be lost without it! Give me a clue please!

TIA!

Russ.

Is the fuel gauge working?

Fuel gauge is working, why is that likely to be an issue?

The range is an estimate based on how much fuel you've got left. I assume it uses the fuel gauge reading as an estimate?

I think the range only resets when its seen a large increase in fuel. £40 should have been enough though, even at today's prices.

Have you driven it far , as the range is worked out by the average fuel consumption over a few miles and the amount of fuel in the tank and it may need to reset

Driven it around 15 miles so the range should have changed by now in my experience.

Jump start my 2014 autotrail centre info screen stays lit but no info
The book tells us not to jump-start but the vehicle is supplied with jump start points
Still trying to sort out problem

Trip button does everything else but reset the range. As far as I know airbag and ecu are both fine.

It's fitted with remote CHARGE points.

A sudden surge from a jump start can cause many problems.

Try filling the tank. That might reset the computer. Or it might not. Everything's a bit hit or miss with Fiat electronics!

They can be a bit iffy, my one used to blank out at 100 range, did it from new. After about 2 years and 20,000 miles it sorted itself out.

Mine has a mind of its own, went to just dashes ----- after brimming and stayed like that for a few thousand miles. Now it reads 1387 miles to fill up (wish it was true) permanantley. The signal goes from the BCM to the fuse panel (or visa versa) by your right knee but I don't want to start messing there.

You can reset it. Toggle around until range is the main thing on the screen. Then press and hold the enter button on the end of the stalk until it resets. I think!

Steve J has been a big help on the hunt for a manual and I just wanted to say a public "THANKYOU!" for all his assistance.

Cheers Steve!

I now have the same problem, the range is stuck at 65km. Has anyone been able to solve this problem and can explain to me how to fix it?

I had forgotten about this post so please forgive me. I normally bang on about the OP not telling the rest of us how the problem was solved. I am fairly sure that the range feature returned to normal after I disconnected the vehicle battery under the passenger floor when messing about with the installation of solar panels. I left it disconnected for about an hour. I’m speculating but this is probably how to reset it. I didn’t have the dashboard set at range until around a week after messing with the solar panels and I had put around £60/40 litres of fuel in it. I’ve also come across other vehicles that require battery disconnection as part of the reset procedure, Citroen Xantias and Peugeot 405 & 309s. Perhaps the electronics are from the same source as the Ducato is also a Citroen & Peugeot in disguise! Never had the problem since and the range feature works perfectly now. Worth a try I guess!

Cheers!

Russ
