Hi all any help at all would be most appreciated with our 1998 left hand drive motorhome. We have a key code light on the dash which means its failing to start. We have made phone calls and been to garages but still no luck, we also went to Fiat based on their advice we would need to tow the van 50 miles away just for Diagnostics 🤨.
We are grateful for any advice 😁

There was an issue with the ignition locks not recognising the keys but I cant remember the ages of the vans affected
Unless you can find someone that can do the diagnostics it's a stab in the dark

Has it got an immobiliser, do the batteries in the fob need changing ?
Is it the model with the red key ?
Sounds immobiliser related to me

Has it got a sigma alarm they are linked into the code.

Do you have a spare key might be worth trying that🤔👍

On that age of vehicle I'd be looking at the loom

my 2011 Ducato van had green wires behind the NS headlight which stopped it starting

Before getting it recovered to a main dealer I'd be getting an auto electrician out to look at it, I doubt they've ever seen a 23 year old fiat at a main dealer so will be guessing at £75 an hour

an auto electrician will know where to look for broken wires
