ferry/tunnel prices

Booked the tunnel for 5 days over May day bank holiday £137 return - £120 paid for with Tesco clubcard points & £17 paid by me. Just done P & O comparison, similar times same dates = £112.50, & DFDS economy fare = £165.00

JENNY AND MITCH They last 12 months from the day you pay for them, 10 crossings = 5 returns and you can share them with one other named person So you could take three and the other named two or what ever mix you wish.

This thread is brill as im trying to sort out holls. Iv never booked for ferry or euro tunel before. Iv just checked dates and times it sent me to a fright page as van over 3.5 t and then charged me £448 it then said drivers go in a air conditioned cart .
I was hoping to stay in mh with our doggi is this all correct ?

No on wrong page, campers do not go as freight whatever the size.......The only way to use the tunnel economically is to share their frequent traveller scheme? Details in this thread....

Even though our van is just under 4t? (3850)
Thats good to know thanks judgemental :-) .
Will re run dates through and hope for a lot better price. We not frequent travelers so just one off for us unfortunayly.

Not for the tunnel it isn't. You just select "Campervan" on the fare finder on their homepage. Don't select any of the tabs at the top as for some reason it tends to charge different fares if you do. The weight of your van is irrelevant. We're 3850kg and it works for us.
When you check in you are sent down a different lane for vehicles over 1.85m tall but that's it. You don't go as freight.

And yes, you do stay in your vehicle with your dogs.

If it's charging that much I think you are looking in the wrong place unless you are towing something.

Just looked at a random date in March you should be looking at £88 each way

That deffo sounds good .
Ì was Just was thinking of flexi cause of both our works can go bit crazy and could be bit more flexible thats all. We cant go to a package joliday anymore cause of work as they keep trying to ruin it hence why we baught motorhome can just escape anytime.

28th may going
coming back 13th june got 1 doggi and a 3850t van 24ft long and bike rack on back sticks out (got to measure bike rack stickky out bit)

just done quick quote on Eurotunnel , £224 return. going out & coming back on the dearest tarrifs - £32.00 of that was for your dog. You may get it slightly cheaper depending on what times you want to travel.

when it asks you what vehicle click the "campervan" option

This doesn't include the £16 each way per dog.

EDIT: Scousebird beat me to it!

If you take your bike rack and bikes off and put them inside till you are over would also save a bit

Aww thats fab thankyou :-) will sort tesco vouchers out and book as have £35 saved.
Thankyou makes much more sence now as it is bit confusing first time round looking at stuff

That trebles up so you have £105 off it

Tunnel is a £104 return sharing frequent traveler scheme, off peak any time of year, other then using tesco if your crossing more than twice in a year ..its pretty daft not to share a frequent traveller scheme with someone. Absolutely flexible, you book when you want, change crossings when you want as many time as you want...

All explained on here:

Sorry but that's more than the normal fare or is that return.

Just checked for our March trip. Out on 2nd evening, back on 30th morning.
My Ferry Link £113.75
P & O £117.50
Tunnel £168.00
DFDS £172.00

Difficult choice we prefer the tunnel but at nearly 50% more than the ferry, I'll think about it.

Bugger we just this thread after we booked Plymouth Santander for March !

So why do you have to say you've got one(n)
