You can definitely stay over night at Portsmouth.

But you can't park up till quite late.

Whatever time they state I suspect you can't join the queueing area till after the last ferry has left. (y)

How long does the crossing take.
thx Chris

Approx 24 hours

(unless they do a crew change at (I think) Roscoff in France. Cap Finistaire does this then you have two nights on board, then 36 hours)

Definitely agree, I've sailed the Baie de Seine half a dozen times. There's some serious fish, lamb and duck dishes. And with a 28-hour crossing you get a chance to have at least two meals, even three if you time it right!

Dont say that, the posh lot from the Pont Avon will start to think their 5 star crossing is under threat

Agree the Pont Aven food is nothing to write home about.

And at breakfast they serve those horrible little French sausages:sicker:

You can only stay overnight on ferry terminal if you are on the first ferry out in the morning
If you aren't on that you will not be aloud
That's what happened to us two weeks ago

There not good on the Cap Finistere either , we had breakfast in the A La Carte restaurant and it was frankly "Crap" and certainly not worth the money . We only ever buy an evening meal at self serve café on deck 10 which has a limited choice but eatable and take our own food for a midday snack

The cap finistere is rubbish for food . In winter you have to go to top floor where they walk the dogs and it is not really enclosed from the elements . Its freezing and the food is crap

It's not a very nice environment up on that deck is it?

Best thing is to buy the food and then take it back downstairs to eat it.

Last time we went on the Cap Finistere ( April 2016 I think) we had a real storm in Biscay and my daughter was very seasick. Not only does she now refuse to ever use that ship again but also can't bring herself to eat anything she did on the ship beforehand.:D2
