We are booked to travel to Bilbao on thursday. Will the ferry be running also is the border open. Thanks Ron.

You should get proper information from the Brittany Ferries website but I believe cancelled.

You should also be aware that the UK Government advice is to not travel to Spain unless essential.

Your Avatar does not state your place of domicile but be aware that if you are a UK resident, your Health Insurance and even your Motor vehicle Insurance may be the subject of challenge should you have a claim.

As stated I am in Spain wanting to go back to the uk.

"Ferry from Bilbao

I think I can see why the confusion.. (y);)

We too have a Bilbao ferry, a week Tuesday, assuming its still running.
Given I'm and no doubt a few others, are thinking the same as Lyrick and Ron, could I please ask whether they could up date this thread after they reach the port. Just to give us any indication of any issues/delays etc getting to the port so I could build this into the journey, if we get that far.
Many thanks.

In the knowledge that they have cancelled ferries out of Santander, I can imagine that sardines would describe their tins as spacious compared to the vehicle decks on the Bilbao run for the foreseeable future.

I dont understand some of the answers on here as I asked if the ferry on thursday this week to Portsmouth was runnig as the ferry pont avan is cancelled for few

Cap finistre is still sailing from Santander this coming Saturday (21st 20:30 pm )as far I know ( I am booked on it)
Getting to Santander from the Algarve is the problem ,
Ring the number on your ferry ticket for further update.
00 44 (0) 330 159 7000

pont aven is not sailing out of any Spanish port for the foreseeable future

I believe the cap finistre is being used for both routes

Bilbao port isn't the most exciting place to spend ones vacation seeing all the roads in Spain are closed except for essential travel. Hey ho each to their own.

Just read on another forum that someone turned up in Bilbao,,no ferry and the police have parked them on a camperstop until next ferry..Been told not to move..BUSBY.

Have you got an authoritative source for saying all the roads in Spain are closed except for essential travel'?
Look on any news website. Lock down Monday 8am.

Im confused, Cap finsitere is showing as being in Biscay heading for Plymouth.

Should it not be leaving Roscoff for Bilbao?

It was a direct screen shot from todays live positions on BF Wesite

Yes, I checked and the website was incorrect, other boats were also incorrectly positioned.

Not always accurate, appreciate its a nice little gimmick but mine comes up with a German flag as company VPN is routed via servers in DE, I can assure you I am currently working from home in sunny Hertfordshire

For those that choose to travel, Brittany ferries is reiterating that return passenger services (Spain-UK) will cease very shortly, and will not re-start until April 9th at the earliest.

That's why I used the word "Domicile." It showed the Ozzie flag when we were there last November. No worries (although you did answer the question re VPN's
