At work we have always used a bosch angle finder for setting end plates on to steel rafters. They need to be pretty precise.

A while back bosch tweeked the design and now I hate using it. It rocks about and there's certain bits of it that will catch and produce a false reading.

Bought this on amazon and I love it.

Perfect for the job and much more accurate than I thought it would be.

£12 or so makes it the best thing in my tool bag by far.

What's yours?

I think Bosch have lost their way, many items now made in Taiwan. I have a Bosch hot glue gun, thought it would be a quality product. No thermostat, no light to let you know it is up to heat and will not stand up when not in use. Horrible thing.

Agree with the LED torch. Good shout.

In my pocket, Opinel No6 knife. Use it for everything from peeling oranges to cutting toe nails.
In my shed, angle grinder and MIG.

I have so many, it's impossible to pick a favourite... 🤔 The one I use most though is my Olight H1R headtorch 👌

Leatherman wave multitool.
Expensive for a penknife, but bought in USA for cheaper, and it has a lifetime guarantee. Been sent off a couple of times for a replacement blade and service etc.

My son bought me a Leatherman Charge + TTi. I love it. Never go away in the van without it.

Footprints. Wouldn’t be without them.

As a newly qualified electrician I wired the new house of the MD of Footprint tools in a posh part of Sheffield.
Only the dining room had a ceiling light, every other room had only wall lights.
This was about 1970 and I still have a pair, they will last a lifetime but they are a bit rough

A good magnet on a length of string, recovered dropped things, fished out items, kept removed fastenings together and even secured instructions in front of me just in case I cheat and read them.

Bodging tool. Home made device, made from an old screwdriver sharpened to a point on the bench grinder.
