After prolonged and fairly heavy rain overnight in Edinburgh, I am wondering what the state of the area we be where we will be parking. If it is on grass, I wonder how muddy it may be and what the risk of getting stuck may be. I have only once before got stuck with wheels dug into mud and it is not something I wish to repeat!

Hopefully. I am being unnecessarily concerned.

You should never let the worry of getting stuck hinder your activities. I've seen people really, really stuck, but none of them are still there

It’s a bit of a mixture really. It is what it is I’m afraid. Hopefully it will dry up.

So far we have had 4 funsters vans turn up unannounced. If you intend joining a rally please make sure we know you are coming.

We have only been allocated a field large enough for those on our list so unfortunately if you aren’t on it you will need to go to general camping area. You are most welcome to come and say hello, join in if you see us sitting out etc.

On arrival please make sure you know your username. Thanks.

We’ve arrived but not on the Funster’s field after some confusion regarding EHU with one of the marshals directing us in.
Anyway, we’re literally just across the road. Not quite Warners is it, no proper signs, we went off towards the Holiday Inn with a load of others, because we followed the sign that said Love Touring Festival
If the numbers increase it’ll be absolute chaos at the entrance gate, directing motorhomes onto the tarmac area before checking you in, everyone cris crossing. Apart from appearing to be doing this for the first time, every member of staff have been very cheerful and helpful.
No information about anything and no goody bag full useless stuff you don’t actually want or need.
Spare EHU on the Funster’s site that we won’t be taking up.

The free shuttle bus runs from just outside the turnstiles next to the toilet block with the water tap from 9am onwards . It takes you to the Parknride where you can get either a bus or tram into Edinburgh. Please confirm with driver what time the last shuttle bus back is.

Just had a quick google and an all day bus pass is £5, it’s £9.50 for a tram return to Edinburgh.

Where the group is, the Lowland hall, it’s too the right of the main highland hall. I’m still at the vans but been told the easiest way to get there is walk through the tents to the right of highland hall, or if you want to avoid the grass use the path in front of highland hall go to top turn left then under bridge on left. Is that right Pugsy

Are you in the Lowland bar? I confirmed with Jamie, bar should be a free introductory drink. Ask them to ask Jamie

Well what can I say. I’ve messaged JamieT27 again telling him the feedback with free introductory drink isn’t happening. I guess with any new event there are going to be teething troubles, hopefully they will be ironed out.

Well we’ve just got our free drinks

Well we got a free can of IPA and a glass of Chardonnay. Both just about drinkable. The level of ”noise” in the Hall was unbearable. A friend out our table spoke with the “Sound Engineer”, but he was not for turning the volume down. Went to the Bar and got charged £11.50 for a small glass of Chardonnay and a Half-pint can of some awful fruit flavoured beer (which was all they had!!!!). Hopefully better tomorrow.

Sandra I’m sure the £9:50 is the airport price, from ingilston P&R it should be £5 for a day ticket for both tram and busses just not including the airport.
It might have changed in the last year or two but it was certainly that when Sophie was at uni.
