Just came across this advert for a Nuevo on Autotrader.

It’s being marketed as having 4 seatbelts 🤔

They don't look legit to me, mounted on side bench seats.

This is a 'similar' layout to our Inca, which does have four correctly fitted seat belts, but nothing like the layout in this one.

It seems to have 2 forward facing inertia seat belts ( driver and passenger) and 2 side-on LAP belts.
Wont go into my thoughts on side-on belts!
😳

And there seems to be a further fixed belt on the bench seat in the rear on the drivers side, but fixed and anchored to what, I am usure.

I thought at first the two lap ones might be legal in a van of that age even though dangerous to travel in.
Then I saw the third a lap/diagonal with the top mounting on the side of the wardrobe.
I hope no one buys it intending to carry passengers also doubt it has the payload to carry 5.

So 2 extra lap belts in the back.....but what's with the extra 3 point belt near the fire 🤷‍♂️
Does the seat there become forward facing like on other models

If you get fingers out to aid you with your counting that adds up to 3 extra belts.

Nope. It’s the same van as mine. Definitely a two berth with no fixings for extra seat belts or forward facing seats in the lounge area.

Unless there is steelwork behind the woodwork, it is a deathtrap. The dealer would best be advised to remove the DiY additions or they could get sued if somebody was to die relying on it

a swift tug to ensure the mounting is tight is all they will get. The examiner can not dismantle anything to check it's metalwork that the belts are bolted to

A van I previously had was converted by a "professional" company before I acquired it. The double cab seat was put in the back as the dinette. To make it the same height as the cab seats, they'd hacked the seat base up and booger-welded some box section in. Then bolted through the floor in areas without any cross-member support.

When I took all the cosmetic woodworking off, I was shocked. In a collision, I doubt it would have stayed in place with just its own weight. If anyone had been strapped to it, it would have acted like an ejection seat.

It had passed 8 years of MOTs without comment.

Wow . I quite fancy phoning this dealer and having a conversation tomorrow 😡
I wonder if this would be recommended for a family ?🤬

The hymer i sold last year had 2 lapbelts fitted on the side facing sofas . Only bolted to the wooden frame. Totally unsafe for use . They were on it when i bought it , i used the buckles for dogs harnesses to attach to but would never take the weight of a person using them in am accident.

Not checked once over 3 years Mots.

I imagine its the same with that van

I have often seen vans advertised as 4 Berth, but with only 2 travelling belts fitted ( a motorhome industry speciality?), but this is the first advert I have seen which clearly states its a 2 Berth, yet shows on its advertising statement that it has 4 travelling belts?
Wrong way round, surely, and they cant get that right either as it has 5 areas of attempted restraint in total, of which 3 are in the rear.
A legitimate motorhome dealer or a car sales pitch that dabbles in anything motorised?

Mine has the same. I'm certain they were put in for dog restraints only, I strap my two to them whilst on the move.
