I want to update my route to Benidorm in the resources section.
One thing I dont have is an up to date figure of the exact toll charges for a Class 2 motorhome from Bordeaux to Irun..
Anyone done it recently and can give me the total cost..
Hi Tonka it's around €30 in total including the two new ones at 5.30 each, get out at juction 1, i normaly stop for the night right on the border at Behobia
w1.759868 n43.34358 this has always been a good safe stop for us and you'll get a good nights rest, if you get there before 7pm just buy a €1 ticket and you'll be ok until 9am one thing don't park in the bus bays.

Done it a few days ago but avoided most of the tolls so not sure if my information is of use to you but here goes anyway.
Down A63 and exit at Jct 18 rejoin at 17 (avoids Toll booth at Jct 18). Exit at jct 12 (Castets) (Avoids toll booth at Jct 12) and take D947 & D824 to overnight at Saint Geours De-Maremne (free stopover) then D810 and rejoin A63 at Jct 8. Then I payed at the last 3 toll booths. €2.7, 3.4 & 2.6.

South of Bordeaux, follow the A63 toll motorway as far as the the Spanish border. The cost (2015) is 14.40€ for a car, about 50% more for a car plus caravan; but this will save about an hour in normal traffic conditions. The last 50 km of this toll motorway, southwest of Magescq (exit 11) , are particularly recommended, as the Bayonne area is built-up and busy. The A63 links directly at the border to Spain's Autopista A-8, and thereafter to the Spanish motorway network..
Note however that this motorway is not pay-on-exit; it is pay-at-toll-points, of which there are four. The two most northerly of these can be avoided by leaving the motorway between exits 18 and 17, and again between exits 12 and 11. Time lost: about a quarter of an hour. Tolls saved: 3.50 Euros saved twice (more than that if you have a camper van). This is not recommended for trucks, as they have to follow a longer alternative route. To avoid tolls (southbound) :
Leave A63 at exit 18 "Le Muret". Turn south on D834 to Castelnau. Here turn right onto D410, then D10E which runs along the eastern side of the motorway. Rejoin motorway at Liposthey (exit 17).
At exit 12, follow D947 for 1 km towards Castets. Then left onto D378. When this starts running along the western side of the motorway, fork left onto D10E. Rejoin the motorway at Magesq (exit 11).
