Just called Eurotunnel to try to amend our crossing in June , the two events we were going too in France and Holland have this been cancelled ! Have emails confirming this !!
Wanted to change to same dates next year but have been advised that as I made this year booking in January it expires in January 2012 !
Tried to reason with them but no luck, did explain that I have this morning changed ferry details to next year and also changed Flight/holidays to next year at small extra costs but again no luck with Eurotunnel .
Told cancel and claim from travel insurance or go before 15th January 2021 and loose the cash paid !
Not a happy bunny at all !
Anyone else had the same problem ?
cheers

I think they are trying to say 2021.
They are offering you a year from the time of the original booking.
Dont know if that satisfies or nor

At the moment France is only closed until 11th May. We had a crossing booked for 7th May via Tesco vouchers, I called Eurotunnel on Tuesday and was issued a voucher by them to re book by 14th April next year for future use in 2021. I would wait to see if Macron extends their lockdown and try again nearer the time.

We are in the the same position, have managed to get our Tesco vouchers back and a voucher from Eurotunnel for the remainder of the ticket cost, which runs out in April 2021, but I think it's ok to book a new crossing in 2021 as long as it's done before the voucher runs out.

Macron is also pressing for non europeans, which we will be in 2021,to have proof of being free from the CoronaVirus, by having a "tested certificate", vaccination certificate, or similar before you can cross into a shengen area. Personally I will not be booking any cross channel trips until this madness is over and we are quite clear on what the situation will be, both home and abroad. (y)

We had a booking with Tesco vouchers, phoned Tesco who refunded the vouchers and then phoned the tunnel who refunded the payment for the dog no questions asked.

We have 6singles left on a frequent traveler account. Eurotunnels offers on what to do weren't very generous one was a 3month extension from August 2020 to November others required buying another frequent traveler and a credit. I replied saying that none seemed very useful and they have now extender it for a year which we've accepted. Just a heads up for anyone else they say it's a change in policy but I'm not sure they offer it first or only if you complain!.

They extended ours by 3 months (after a request) to early November, but in light of the possible travel ban until end of October, I've emailed them again to ask for a longer date. I'll report back when I hear from them.

I had similar and accepted the last possible date offered... As that date approached I foned again and they gave a credit for the journey which I can use up to a year on from the date I called them the 2nd time..
Problem solved :-)

We were due to travel on 15th May and had The standard reply about moving the date of travel to within 12 months of the original booking which was back in January this year! There is no way we are travelling across in January so sent a more strongly worded request and they have replied this morning that we have been given a voucher which is valid until 21st April next year and a booking must be made by that day but we can travel after that date. This suits us very well. We have got full reimbursement which we weren’t sure we would as some was paid with Tesco vouchers. So feel very satisfied with outcome but it is certainly like drawing teeth!

Same situation here Elaine. :)

Jock. :)
Just received an email reply from Eurotunnel.

"Thank you for your email and I am very sorry if you remain disappointed with our offer to extend your Frequent Traveller wallet by 3 months.

We understand that the situation is constantly changing and confirm that whilst an extension of 3 months is all we could offer at that point, please contact us again upon the expiry of your account if you still have unused tickets left.

We will be more than happy to give this further consideration.

Kind regards

Nathalie "

We booked our tickets for less than two weeks time using Tesco vouchers. Rang yesterday at 7p per minute, was answered almost straightaway and was told the the procedure now is for them to rebook us for a notional date and keep reviewing the situation. We are now “booked” for late January but believe they will allow this date to be postponed until we are allowed to travel. Much better than the thieves at P&O who have kept our money and only allow an extension until the end of December. If they are still in business at the end of all this they won’t be getting any of mine!

Yes, we were offered 3months then complained, twice, were then offered the 12 month extension.
It would be better for their public relations if Eurotunnel did the right thing without our having to complain. As a contrast, a relative had booked a Inghams mountain holiday for summer 2019 and paid a fair sized deposit. They couldn't go because of family circumstances and Inghams immediately offered to carry forward the deposit to 2020. Inghams have now, without being asked or contacted, carried it forward to 2021. Good customer service and therefore good business.

We got that one as well, but I wrote straight back asking for it to be escalated. We then received the 12 month extension. Best of luck with it!

That's what I'm going to do. Ours is only a return as booked to go by Brittany Ferries so just a return by Eurotunnel.

Just had a response from Eurotunnel to say they've extended our end date to August 2021.
