Hi, we are looking to travel to Spain for a couple of months - Jan/Feb with 3 large dogs. Can anyone recommend anywhere to stay? We just want some warm weather!

At short notice you'll always find room at Camping Marjal, because it's massive (Think Heathrow Long term Parking) But the pitches are big with plenty of good dog walks. And proper pet shower rooms etc. And if the weather is going to be warm in Spain in Winter its on that stretch of coast.

Many head for the Benidorm are for a good reason, possibly the best weather over the winter.

Though Feb is the worst month. It was terrible this year, it rained one day and we had to wear a jacket some of the time.

Anywhere south of Valencia should give you the best chance of warmer weather - we tend to avoid Benidorm as unless you book finding a good site for any period of time can be quite difficult.

And the place is full of Funsters..............................:devil::devil:

One of the best sites I know for dogs is Pinos San Jose, Zahora, near Conil de la Frrontera. Lovely site with excellent facilities. Close to Cape Trafalgar. We spend winters there.

Are Marie and Rex still in residence ?

I’m not sure think someone said they no longer stay there.

I second this, and can also recommend Los Escullos in Cabo de Gata. Excellent facilities and great dog walking.

As already written, get south of Valencia for good weather.
Cabo de Gato has a few lovely places to stay, as does the area around and north of Conil de la Frontera.
It is difficult to advise on a best place for you as we all have such different needs and wishes.
Wherever you go in the bottom quarter of Spain, it should be warm but they do have rain as everywhere does. Some years are better than others. There is always Portugal and the Algarve which may be reaching saturation according to some threads.

Yes Bob and Janie we’re happily settled in Cornwall now. Been here 6 months and loving every minute . We’re done with life on the road. It’s been a fabulous 11 years and we wouldn’t swap any of it but it’s time for a change and when we change we do it big style . Looking forward to meeting up with Funsters when they venture down this way!

We liked Camping Torre la Sal 2 near Oropesa. This is just north of Benicassim and is an excellent ACSI site with lots of facilities including a dog shower/bathroom with hairdryers for dogs. Pitches are large and mainly occupied by large expensive German vans. Outside the gates is a large dog beach where dogs can run for miles. Our dog loved it there

Gotta say 3 large dogs on a campsite you will almost certainly get complaints i'd go for aires for a couple of days and slowly move on i have 1 medium dog and she is a little sod but wants to say hello to everyone

We’ve travelled extensively with our 3 dogs and haven’t had any complaints - mind you, people might be too scared to come near us!

loads of room in marjel and really good for dog walks a nice river for the dogs to have a swim too

What complaints would you anticipate getting then?

Dog poop - aggressive dog - keeps barking you know what to expect

Thats not what I expect of any responsible dog owner whether they have one dog or three. To be fair to big dogs, it's the little-uns that do all the snapping and yapping. :D

I clean up after my dog it is other people that dont clean up after their dog but if someones dog poops close to your van and you have a dog you will get the blame.

My dog will also growl and bark if someone gets too close to the van until she knows who is next door - away from van she quiet - but she is only doing what she is expected to do.

Yes but all that said, it doesn't qualify this

I just can't agree with your certainty here. I doubt anyone has ever complained about the dogs in the OP, they are well behaved and very well looked after.
